WHEN I SURVEY THE WONDEROUS CROSS

For the month of November we will be meditating upon the famous hymn by Issac Watts, When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Charles Wesley reportedly said he would give up all his other hymns to have written this one.

Personal Reflection And Meditation

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small:
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Scripture memorization (read, write and repeat):
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Bible Study
Read the following scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Matthew 10:37-39, John 15:13-14 and answer the following questions.

What is the compelling reason for Christians to serve the Lord?

.

What are some other reasons we "serve" the Lord?

.

What does Jesus say "makes" a person worthy of following Him?

.

Personal Application
What did you learn about the character, plans or purposes of God through this study?

.

How do you believe the Lord is speaking to you through this study?

.

What adjustment in attitudes, beliefs or actions is God calling you to make?

.

Take these things to God in prayer.
